  21. Hi, I'm looking to purchase a low end (DX2 or DX4) PC system for
  22. rendering work. I really don't know too much about what's available
  23. for PCs in the graphics arena, so I was wondering if some kind soul
  24. on the list could give me advice in a few subjects (I'd post in
  25. a newsgroup, except my feed is very.. very dead).

  27. 1> Roughly what sort of speed difference is there between a stock
  28. A4000 (the one in my .sig) and a DX2 and/or DX4?

  30. 2> What OS is a good choice for Lightwave, Photoshop and video work?
  31. Will NT function under OS/2? Anyone know anything about whether NeXT
  32. STeP is more or less MS-DOS/Windows compatible on 80x86 systems? I'm
  33. looking for power more than stupid user friendlyness in an OS.

  36. for something to replace Essence, what am I looking for? Will Kai's
